The steps intallation for Mazda vehicles:
1. Carefully unscrew the shift knob by rotating it counter clockwise.
2. Remove the 2 screws on either side of the console.
3. Remove shift boot and plastic cover by gently squeezing the insides of the cup holders and lifting.
4. Remove the plastic cover around the handbrake by carefully lifting up on it.
5. Remove the 2 screws in the base of the console.

Mazda Automatic Transmission Cooler/Lines Flushing Procedure
Automatic Transmission (A/T) oil cooler/lines must be power flushed completely before an overhauled or replacement A/T is installed. One of the causes of repeat A/T failures is an internal automatic transmission fluid (ATF) restriction at the inlet side of the oil cooler. This restriction is usually caused by an accumulation of metal particles and debris (from a previous A/T failure) on the internal mesh type baffle of the oil cooler. Power flushing will remove the restriction by back flushing the cooler/lines followed by forward flushing. This will in turn ensure full ATF flow for the transmission when it is operating.

Mazda MPV Customer Complaints
Forty-one complaints concerning the 2000-2002 Mazda MPV have been filed by the public since November 2002. The owners who contacted the APA complained mostly about vibration and transmission problems. From November 2002 to March 2003, complaints were filed at the Toronto office using the short one-page form; twelve such forms were filled out by consumers. From May 2003 until today, complaints have been filed using the two-page form available on the web site and were sent to both the Toronto and Montreal offices. Twenty-nine such complaints were sent to the APA. All of the consumers who sent the APA completed forms identified themselves and left us their telephone numbers and, in most cases, their e-mail addresses.

Earlier in the powerband it made up to 25 additional ft lb over stock and after the torque peak it picked up 33 ft lb of torque over stock. The horsepower gains are highest at peak levels, but average 10-15 at the low end to midrange.

2010 Mazda 3 Short Shifter TWM Performance Installation Manual
Begin the installation by parking on a flat surface, as you will have to engage and disengage the hand brake and shift from gears to neutral. If you cannot do so and are obliged to install the short shifter on a slightly inclined surface, place wooden blocks in front or behind the wheels to prevent the car from moving while you’re working. Please read this installation manual completely before installing the short shifter. Make sure to let the car cool down before you do the install as you will be working on and around the exhaust line.
