Installation Guide
1 Remove the following in accordance with the factory service manual. Air cleaner assembly Right hand wheel arch liner Air intake grille and air ducting - ‘A’ pillar trim
2. Tape the template onto the guard after aligning the top edge of the template along the lower crease and the rear edge of the guard, using the two cut outs of the template as a guide. Using a felt tip pen, mark all of the hole positions and remove the template. Drill a pilot hole for each marked hole positions.

Land Rover TD5 Discovery:
1. Testdrive vehicle and check all functions e.g. Speedo-cruise, steering mounted controls etc.
2. Remove cover in right front of engine bay that covers jack and battery.
3. Disconnect negative terminal of battery
4. Remove securing screw on ecu and lift ecu out of box.
5. Disconnect the red and black plugs from the ecu – DO NOT PULL ON WIRES!
6. Install the red and black powerplug plugs into the ecu.

VIS MOTOR DTC, MANIFOLD RATTLE NOISE AND ENGINE PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSIS
This ‘information only’ bulletin has been issued to aid diagnosis and resolution of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) related to valve actuator motors assembled to the air intake manifold of the KV6 engine. A noticeable change in engine performance or a ‘rattle’ noise coming from the intake manifold area during idle may be reported. The Variable Intake Manifold System (VIS) on the KV6 engine incorporates two actuator motors (’VIS Motors’) that control the positions of internal flaps and butterfly valves which alter the volume and rate of air induction.

Front Air Spring Removal:
1. Raise the front suspension of the vehicle with proper lifting equipment. Both wheels must be off the ground with no load. ALWAYS USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN LIFTING VEHICLE! (Refer to shop manual for lifting instructions)
2. Remove both front wheels.
3. Remove plastic wheel arch liner.
4. Depressurize air spring by removing nylon air hose. To remove air hose, push down on the metal collet, while pulling out on the hose.
5. Remove the two upper securing clips.
6. Remove the bolt securing the lower air spring retaining pin to the front axle.
