120 THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW ABOUT PHOTOSHOP

Part of what makes Photoshop such an incredibly powerful and pleasurable program to use is its well-thought out implementation: the interface is polished and uncluttered and easily customizable (despite its vast arsenal of tools and commands). In fact, there is a surprising amount of “hidden” functionality within Photoshop; so much so, that despite the number of years you work with the program, you will undoubtedly keep discovering more and more about it. I doubt anyone could claim that they know “everything” about Photoshop (except maybe Adobe’s software engineers ;-).

Photoshop Layers Tutorial 2

These are old favorite of mine and the other day when I was visiting a client she said “I went out to dinner last night and half way through the meal I suddenly felt quite light headed”. A light bulb (pun intended) went off in my head and I thought this would make a great visual pun. When I got home I searched my archives and sure enough I found a picture of me in a restaurant. (Actually I found lots of pictures of me in restaurants; it’s another one of my pastimes). I decide to make this a lightheaded subject. To show you how I did this I am just going to show a series of captures out of PhotoShop Elements as I constructed the image.

eePanels Tutorial

Welcome to the eePanels tutorial! This tutorial will hopefully help some people learn how to use the eePanels mod developed by Evil Elvis from WoWace.com eePanels is essentially a texture and art modification, allowing you to render textures in your user interface. eePanels is very diverse, insofar as it allows the creation of “standard” frames from the blizzard textures (i.e. tool tip borders with a solid background) while also allowing you to import your custom textures. I’ve provided links to three tutorials which provide in-depth discussion on the creation of Warcraft-ready textures using Adobe Photoshop©.

Converting color photo’s to Black & White Using PhotoShop CS2

I’ve always liked the look of ‘Black & White’ photos. There is so much feeling anddepth to them if you convert them in the right way. Creating great looking ‘Black & White’ photographs from your color photo’s is a little more complicated than hitting the ‘Convert to Grayscale’ mode or ‘Desaturate’ buttons in PhotoShop. When you use the ‘Convert to Grayscale’ option in PhotoShop, (Image > Mode > Grayscale), you will lose so much information such as the tonality of the photo. The reason for this is that Photoshop Grayscale only gives you 256 shades of gray. There are many ways to convert color photo’s to Black & White using PhotoShop but in this document I will give you two ways to accomplish good looking Black & White photo’s.

AIP4Win2.0 Color Images Tutorial

This tutorial demonstrates the basic color operations of AIP4Win. The files used in it may be found in the Color subdirectory of the Tutorial directory on the CD-ROM.
